Rainbow City Records and Cerys Matthews are pleased to announce the release of her second single taken from the critically acclaimed album Don't Look Down which has already sold over 20,000 copies on Cerys' own Rainbow City record label.

"Into The Blue" and "Mae Angen Llong Ar Gapten" will be released as a double A Side single on February 22nd and will be available for download from Amazon and i Tunes and all other download stores from February 22nd.
November 24, 2009 -- Baby Boy
A message from Cerys:
"How happy I am to let you know that our baby boy was born on Monday 23rd. 8 weeks earlier than expected. We are doing very well and excited now to share this happy news with you. what an amazing surprise, just after presenting children in need on Friday! Love always, cerys and steve"
November 23, 2009 -- Children In Need
On Friday night Cerys took to the stage in a concert at the Wales Millennium Centre in aid of Children in Need. She joined Only Men Aloud!, Stereophonics, opera singer Bryn Terfel and Swansea's Bonnie Tyler.

Extracts of the show were screened on BBC One's Children in Need programme with Terry Wogan, Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon. If you missed it, you can watch it on the BBC iPlayer here.

October 22, 2009 -- On Tour
The 'Don't Look Down' Tour has been going well. The Cardigan, Milford Haven and Bristol dates all sold out, with all shows going down a treat, including last night in Union Chapel where Alessi's Ark was added to the bill.

BBC Radio Cymru will be dedicating a whole weekend to Cerys and the release of Don't Look Down, running from October 3rd to Monday October 5th.

September 11, 2009 -- Busy as a Butterfly
Don't Look Down - Don't Look Down has been receiving fantastic reviews across the airwaves and has been B listed on Radio 2 for the second week. Listen out for the Single "Arlington Way" which will be released on September 28th.
BBC Radio Cymru had the exclusive play of both Mae Capten Angen Llong and Carolina.

Cerys has been busy interviewing the likes of Johnny Marr, Beth Ditto, Robyn Hitchcock, Juliette Lewis, Michael Winterbottom and Jools Holland - all in one week! These are on BBC 6 Music as well as BBC Radio 2.

Cerys is also busy making a documentary for BBC Radio 2 on the history of Maida Vale. Look out for its release date on the website.
July 23, 2009 -- Don't Look Down
Cerys Matthews will release her first CD in two years on October 5th. The album, entitled ‘Don't Look Down’ will be released in two versions, one in English and the other in Welsh. It was recorded in Providence, Rhode Island, Nashville, Seattle and London and coincides with a two week UK tour in October (dates below). Using two of her US musicians, the show will be split into two full performances, the only date with a support act will be at the London's Union Chapel show with Alessi's Ark on 21st October.

After covering Glastonbury for both BBC TV and BBC Radio 6, she has recently started her daily 6 Music show (‘Cerys on 6’) with her eclectic mix of contemporary, roots and just ace music. She recently wrote and presented a well-received BBC2 primetime programme on Celtic Poetry and documentaries on the singer Dorothy Squires and music of the Mississippi river.

Cerys has now started her lunchtime show on 6music. You can listen to her every weekday from 1-4pm and can listen online here.

Cerys starts her 6music afternoon show called 'Cerys on 6' on July 6th, running from 1-4pm on weekday afternoons.

Cerys will also be covering the Glastonbury Festival on 6music from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th June inclusive from 5-8pm, as well as presenting the BBC TV 'Red Button' coverage of the festival.
